Ever feel like if you follow your dream and it doesnt come true your nothing?

i am auditioning for american idol and i REALLY wanna sing in front of
big crowds and i want people to come up to me and say "hey your that
boy who sings..." if i dont at least make it past hollywood in
american idol i feel llike i am nothing. i dnt know what else to do =/
i wanna become a singer soooooo bad. what can i do to fufil that
dream?
